Hello I'm currently using hp zbook ultra g1a for about 3 months now.

I have an issue charging my laptop with various chargers. (short disconnect and reconnect while heavy load)
The only working charger with no error is [Samsung galaxy book 140w charger + apple thunderbolt 240w cable] combo.
even original charger sometimes disconnects while charging. (maybe apple's 140w charger would work)

I already contacted HP service and got battery replacement but the issue still remains.

So I searched all over the internet and found many issues with charging like mine.

1. Weird Charging behavior

2. 3rd party charger not working as expected

3. another 3rd party charger not working

4. Dell 140w thunderbolt hub monitor low power alarm (S.Korea HP Community)

https://cafe.naver.com/f-e/cafes/16795081/articles/49087?boardtype=L&referrerAllArticles=true

Maybe my OG Charger is faulty one.. but pd 3.1 140w and thunderbolt 4 are universal standards and shouldve work without issue like macbook with many 3rd party products from satechi, dell, anker, ugreen etc.

But HP Zbook ultra g1a's pd firmware is too sensitive especially for cables.

I think changing voltage between 20v and 28v is causing problem. because every pd 3.0 100w charger and cable does not have these disconnecting issue so far.

I hope dev team take a look at this problems and may find solutions..

(btw according to the specsheet only one of two usb c port on the left support charging 150w right..? but mine has both ports support charging.. is it normal or only mine..? )

Hello @JaejunLee
According to the specifications document- HP ZBook Ultra 14” G1a Mobile Workstation PC
2 x Thunderbolt™ 4 with USB Type-C® 40Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 2.1)*
1x USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 2.1)

All the USB Type C ports allow charging and there shouldn't be a difference when it comes to power delivery on either of them. I recommend updating the BIOS to the latest version(01.03.02 Rev.A as of today) from the HP website. If the HP original charger continues to show issues, it is likely a problem with the adapter which would need to be replaced.
