Hi,

You can replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SSD (and reinstall the OS). It will give a great boost to the everyday performance of the PC for a low price.

Example:

https://www.amazon.in/Crucial-MX500-500GB-2-5-inch-SSD/dp/B0786QNS9B/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywor...

On page 49 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04642845.pdf

You can create bootable media with Windows 10 on it directly from Microsoft, you do not need product key as it is in the firmware. Then use the USB drive to reinstall the OS

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Hope it helps,

David

if i purchase the hard disk which you mentioned can you help me with some reference links on

1. how to replace existing drive with the new one

2.How to install os and how to activate it, should i need to take a backup of present os how to take it.

3. How to transfer data from old disk to new disk.

Thanks in advance

Yes, I can try,

The service manual I linked is for HP Pavilion Notebook and Star WarsTM Special Edition Notebook as you can see on page 1 of service manual.

I linked the Crucial one as an example, you can get one from your preferred brand and capacity, The Samsung 870 Evo is probably considered the best

https://www.amazon.in/Samsung-500GB-Internal-Solid-MZ-77E500/dp/B08T1QQZ1T/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&...

Before replacing the drive (or on a different PC) you can create a USB drive with Windows 10 on it by downloading the media creation tool from Microsoft.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

On page 49 of service manual you can see the steps to replace the drive

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04642845.pdf

Once you have replaced the drive insert the USB and turn on the PC. It should automatically boot from the USB drive.

Continue installation of the OS.

Once installed go into settings and completely update the machine so Windows will find the necessary drivers.

You can find missing drivers and more here for your notebook

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-15-ab000-notebook-pc-series/7771366/model/7919380/m...

You could also get a USB to SATA cable to transfer your files from the old drive to the SSD

Example

https://www.amazon.in/PiBOX-India-Adapter-Converter-ASM1153e/dp/B07KDKNT29/ref=sr_1_3?dchild=1&keywo...

Hope it helps,

David
