HP ENVY dv6-7301tx

11.png12.jpg13.jpg14.png15.pngHello everyone, please help. I have HP ENVY dv6-7301tx Notebook. I bought the original battery, but it does not charge, it says: - "Battery status: 0% charge left"
What measures were taken:
1. Delete in Device Manager - ACPI battery driver. Then reboot - Didn't help.
2. Disconnect charger, remove battery, hold power button for 30-40 sec, then connect charger (without battery) then go to BIOS and reset. Connect battery, turn on - Didn't help.

Any guesses as to what the reason is? I'm attaching screenshots of AIDA and HP's proprietary utility.

@ViperBooTS12, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP ENVY dv6-7301tx!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand how frustrating it is to install a new battery and still see 0% charge. You've already taken some solid steps—reinstalling drivers and resetting BIOS are exactly what we’d recommend early on.

Since the issue persists, here are a few things to try next:

Update BIOS and chipset drivers from the official HP site for your model. These often fix power-related issues.

Run a quick battery report:
Open Command Prompt as admin and type powercfg /batteryreport. It’ll generate a file—check if your battery is being recognized and what the full charge capacity looks like.

If possible, try the battery in another compatible HP laptop to rule out a hardware issue with the charging circuit.

If the battery isn’t detected properly or won’t charge in any system, even if it’s new, it could be a compatibility issue or a faulty unit.

Feel free to share your battery report here—we’re happy to take a closer look!

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello, here is the battery report. Unfortunately I have no opportunity to check on another device, as I am a military man and I am in the army now. It is also impossible to update the BIOS, as support for the device has already been discontinued and the latest BIOS version is currently installed on the laptop. Installing the driver on the chipset - did not give anything.

@ViperBooTS12, Thanks for getting back to us, and really appreciate the update—especially considering your current situation. First off, thank you for your service.

About the battery report link you shared—unfortunately, I can't access files stored locally on your system (like C:/Users/...). If you could upload the report file here as an attachment, I’d be glad to take a look and help you better.

Since you've already ruled out BIOS updates and chipset drivers, and you’re working with limited resources right now, here’s what I’d suggest next:

Double-check if the battery is an official HP part and fully compatible with your specific model (sometimes even “genuine” batteries can have firmware mismatch issues).

Try running the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool (F2 during boot), then go to the Battery Test under Component Tests. Let us know what results come up.

Also, when the charger is connected, does the charging LED blink or stay off?

Let me know what you find, and we’ll take it from there. We’re here to help, no matter where you are. Stay safe out there!

Just went into HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool, here is a photo. When connecting the charger - the charge indicator is constantly white (when the battery is charging, it should be orange)

@ViperBooTS

Thank you for providing the updates and diagnostics images — and again, we truly appreciate your patience.

From what you’ve shared, it seems the system is not properly communicating with the new battery. Here’s the next step:

Please verify if your BIOS is truly the latest version.

If it’s not, update the BIOS and then re-run the Battery Check through the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics tool to confirm if the issue persists.

Even if updates are no longer officially available on the HP site, it’s worth double-checking the installed BIOS version against the last available release for your model.

Let us know how it goes — we’re here with you every step of the way!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hello, unfortunately there is nothing on the official HP website for my laptop model, absolutely nothing, no drivers, no utilities, no BIOS. I couldn't find anything on the Internet either. Here is a screenshot of the BIOS version that is on the laptop, most likely it is the latest and most relevant at the moment.

Hello, I am very ashamed, but I could not find the envelope icon in the upper right corner, is it possible to make a screenshot or several screenshots to see the sequence of clicking/opening tabs to go to a private chat. Thank you very much for your help.
