memory and HDD
12-02-2020 03:22 PM - edited 12-02-2020 03:23 PM

Went to Crucial memory - did a scan of my device and found the new SSD and new Memory for my laptop. received them, opened the laptop, and guess what - they are wrong - it looks like my laptop has no expansion slots for memory (return that piece) and the Sata drive I ordered - was actually supposed to be an m.2 drive. has anyone ever replaced their m.2 drive?
oh and crucial stands behind their suggestion for drive and memory choices.

Hi:
What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?
Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.

Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your HP PAVILION X360 - 14M-BA114DX.
You have to remove the motherboard to get to where the memory is located.
See chapter 5, page 60.
Your notebook supports dual storage but if it came with a M.2 SSD, then the parts to add a 2.5" hard drive aren't there.
I see in chapter 3 where there is a sleeve part number, but I don't see any info on a drive cable that I would assume is also required to connect the drive to the sata controller on the motherboard.
You may want to ditch adding a 2.5" drive, and just buy a larger capacity M.2 SATA SSD.
