Hy, I bought my Laptop under a year ago while in vacation in Spain, (approx. June 20, 2019) and while it is a nice product and never let me down in terms of software etc (12gb Ram, Nvidia 1050 and 8th gen i7), a couple of weeks ago I went to close my laptop after work (work from home) and heard a noise, like a crack or something and when I inspected I noticed the hinge on the right side of the screen was misaligned and the frame around the screen has popped off on the bottom.

I have never dropped it and I take good care of it as it is my working tool. I have noticed this to be quite "common" in this model and I would like to know what can be done about it since it is clearly not my fault this happened.  


My case is very similar to this post, however my hinges arent as destroyed as this one's (currently only looks like that on the right side of the screen) :

The Warranty is for the year since purchase; product is under Warranty - just barely, it seems, but still in time...

 

Your best option is to submit a case with HP - we can do nothing on our side and our methods of contacting HP on your behalf are sometimes slower and not necessarily better.  For example, asking us to contact HP for you does not impact the outcome.

 

Do contact HP and submit your case.

Regardless of the decision, you will have had your request "in the box".

HP Support does not publicly post contact numbers.  Please submit your case online

  • Provide all the requested information to submit your online case
  • Explain the problem > Ask for help
  • Submit the case
  • After the case is submitted, Contact information for your area will be displayed on your screen
  • Reminder:  Wait times can be long – HP Response centers are very busy.

 

 

  • Use Device Serial Number to submit the case (do not post private information on the Community).
  • Chat is not available in every region.  In those areas where Chat is an option, Chat service hours are likely restricted.

check single or multiple devices.

 

  • If necessary, Select your Country on the main website page or at the bottom (click Flag)
  • Scroll down > To the right of Check multiple warranties, Click Continue
  • Enter the Serial Number and Country for one or more devices / systems to be checked
  • Check the box to verify you are "Not a robot"
  • Click Submit (at bottom of list entries)
  • When the page opens, Click View Details

 

NOTE: The online database results do not impact the actual contract.

Thank you for the quick reply! I have tried contacting HP myself but its website says this product isn't under Hp's support any longer. 

Original message translated: 
"This product is no longer supported by HP. You can search for possible solutions on this support site."

And Hp's page failed in providing me any "service center" in my country (Brazil) for some reason. While I understand that this is NOT a problem caused by me as many others had encountered issues with their hinges as well, I  would already feel way better if I was able to even locate a service center or the necessary parts to fix this, even if I need to pay for them (which I feel is wrong, but it is better than not having any support at all, I guess).
