Hi

I have now the same problem that I didn`t found a distributor which has these hard drive cable in stock. I need these following parts and I didn´t find them anywhere.

  • Hard drive board part # L52024-001
  • Hard drive cable part # L52025-001

I have the following Hardware:

Now my Question. Is it possible to use alternative HDD Flexcable / Hard drive cable from other HP Models? Do you know if there are pin compatibility Versions on the market which I can use? Or some universal parts which havn`t the right length but fit`s also in the HDD Connector Slot: For Example I found some :

Or do you have an pinout Matrix where I can see the pinout of the Flex Cable. I will be also very thankfull if someone will have an solution for me.

Thanks

Sorry for the late response. I was on vacation for the past week.  🙂

It is an 8 pin cable.  And... I THINK I FOUND ONE!

According to HP's parts database the same part (both board and cable) is used in a "15s-dy0005TX" model laptop.  If that is in fact true, then I found a vendor who sells it.   I emailed over a dozen different vendors in many different countries.  Only one replied with a part that appears to be correct.  All others just said that it was not available.  I provided them with the full list of models that HP says it is used in.  I'll put a copy of that at the bottom of this reply.

Here is a link to the part:  https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Y9MTWB5  I ordered one and it should arrive in two days.  I sure hope that it works!  If HP deletes the above link from my post, just search amazon for "B07Y9MTWB5".   This is the description "Deal4GO SSD SATA Hard Drive Cable with HDD Caddy Bracket for HP 15s-dy 15s-dy0005TX 15s-dy0006TX 15s-dy0002TX DD0G75HD011".

Let's hope that this works!  If so it will salvage a terrible situation.  I've never before seen a case where a vendor said that a laptop had a 2.5" HDD/SSD bay when what it really has is just had a hollow space big enough for a drive, but with no ability to to actually connect a drive.  And that the only way to do so was to buy more parts, that are not even available and self-install them.  Which I imagine will void the warranty.  Unbelievable.

Here is the list of laptop models that HP's parts db says use those same two parts.  NOTE that it does NOT contain your laptop model.  That does not make me feel good about the accuracy of the data.  My model is a 15T-DW100.

Ok but actually there isn`t a distributor where I can find these cable. So there is no possibility for an other cable. So every HP Notebook has a different Pinning? Is this correct?

Do you know if the flex cable has 8 or 10 Pins. Because the most I found are 10 Pinning Flex-cable the only think which I didn`t found was the Pinning and the Pitch of these cables. For me it would make sense that the Pinning should be always the same only the length of these cables are different.

Can you please tell me a rudimentary solution how I can upgrade my new notebook with an additional 2TB HDD?

Thanks

This answer is completely useless.  We know the right part number to use but HP won't sell it.   There is no purchase option to have two drives installed.  There are no distributors to buy from for self installation or from an authorized HP Parts dealer.   Its this kind of service and responses that drive customers away.  So you provide an useless answer with no support or help.

I have the same problem.  I am disgusted beyond belief.  People all over the internet have been trying to find these parts for many months.  Clearly HP has no intention of ever making them available, yet they tell customers that they can add a HDD/SSD.  This kind of lying to customers is nothing but low life scamming bs.  I expected more from HP.   I'm just kicking myself for not buying a Dell.

Hello All.  Good News I can confirm that this HDD Board and Cable part will add a 2,5" 2 TB SATA drive in addition to the SDD drive present on a HP 15t-dw100.  Thanks  @AndyUkaSick.   Cable attached to the 1 motherboard connector also marked JHDD.  Pictures attachedIMG_5697 (2).JPGIMG_5697.JPG
