I would really appreciate it if anyone knows what kind of ram that this computer uses and what the limits of the ram

It depends on what processor your notebook has.

 

If it has a Pentium or Celeron processor, it only has one memory slot and the max the slot can take is 1 x 8 GB.

 

If it has an Intel core processor, it has two memory slots and the max the slot can take is 2 x 8 GB of memory.

The memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1.
