Hi, when updating windows 10 to the creator feature update I get a popup saying the software "hp stream x360 convertible pc" needs to uninstalled to continue. When I click continue it says
We couldn't uninstall these apps
You'll need to remove these apps yourself, then select refresh.
These programs need to be uninstalled because they aren't compatible with the upgrade.

[Refresh]
I only bought this notebook new a few months ago with windows 10 preinstalled on it.

Just going to make a final post on this as it is resolved for me. I had HP ring me yesterday and ask me to reboot into Safemode (can be found by tapping ESC key while laptop is booting)
Booting into desktop and renaming this folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to SoftwareDistribution1
and rebooting. It then downloaded the creator privacy setting update. Rebooted again and in windows update it said the laptop was up to date but windows 10 creator update was coming soon, click here to install now. I clicked it and downloaded windows update assistant. Which downloaded a windows 10 update and then nothing happened, and nothing changed, that was yesterday.
Today I rebooted again, and went to my downloads file and ran the windows 10 update assistant that I downloaded yesterday. It downloaded for a few hours (ADSL) and rebooted itself and when it eventually got to the desktop Windows Creator Update was installed.
I assume HP fixed the issue behind the scenes in the last month and it was just a matter of forcing it to try install the update again.
Hope everyone else having this issue is able to get it working.

Hi,
Try installing the Bios update for your system from here:
Hope it helps,

@Pato_2002 posted the same issue today here also. The Windows event logs might display more information about exactly which file or files are causing the problem, I'm not sure. As a worse case, you could try a fresh install of Windows 10.

event logger does record the error though there is nothing specific about it I can see, googling the error code brings up complaints from windows 7 and initial windows 10 installs

You might look for recent upgrade logs within the Windows directory also. I'm not on a Windows 10 machine currently but I see a file called: C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log on a Windows 7 computer with details of last update.

Hi Kyle, seems windows 10 logs to the event logger instead, altough you can use a powershell command to dump a log file.
I believe this was the event data converted to .log

Have talked to HP today, still trying to get some meaning or resolution of why this is happening or what their intention is. Since I'd have a hoped the product would at least remain compatible with the operating system it was sold with for the warranty period.
"I'd advise you to rollback the update as it is unable to get installed on the device." is the official stance from HP
