Product: HP Spectre x360 13-4117nf
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi ! I would like to share my feedback after solving random BSOD issues on my laptop (Spectre x360).
I passed a lot of time trying a lot of things. Let me summarize what it was done, hoping that can help others to spend less time to find a solution.
- I have first performed a full Windows 10 recovery -> issue not solved https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12415/windows-10-recovery-options
- I tried a Windows Fresh Start -> doesn't work too https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4012986
- After checking for driver updates, with Windows Update and the HP support Assistant, I have performed a lot a manual updates (pad, graphic card, wifi…) You can find more informations on my previous post -> issue not solved https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/BSOD-dxgmms2-sys-Spectre-x360/m...
- Then I tried a full system recovery using the HP recovery manager and the build in recovery partition -> It failed at the middle of the process with the error message "restoration incomplete"
- So I tried an USB recovery key which I had create after the purchase of the notebook. I choose the "full factory recovery" option. Unfortunately, I rapidely get the error code OxEFFFFF23
- Then I tried to create an up to date recovery key using the HP cloud recovery tool. It failed again because the product id was not recognized (T1K87EA#ABF) despite it's the solution mentioned on the product home page
- Finaly, I create a Windows 10 recovery key using the Microsoft media creation tool https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 thanks to Paul_Tikkanen https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/HP-recovery-manager-failed-Spec... -> the laptop seems stable
Do not hesitate to ask me more information if needed,
Cédric
