Hello,

I have this persistent HP Printer 3.2.1.2285 download/install error file in Windows Update for my Win11 HP Elitebook. Issue popped up about a week ago.

 

Oddly enough, I don't even own an HP inkjet printer, nor have I ever had this laptop hooked up to an HP printer. I have an Epson inkjet via WiFi.

 

I've been searching around for possible fixes for this issue, but have not been able to locate similar issue.

I've uninstalled the non necessary Epson printer files and the persistent HP printer driver install has finally been rectified.

I have the same error, i do have a HP Printer, unable to remove the download.

I have spoken to HP Support, they say that this update is not one of thiers, "mrt /f" and firewall report OS is OK.

I just finished installing these 2 new O/S updates and my issue is still not fixed. After reboot the HP printer file is still hanging around. Persistent for sure.

I don't understand what you mean by "mrt /f"?

"mrt /f" is the Microsoft Malicious Software Tool. Note the entry in the Search bubble below.

 

You run it as administrator and it scans the hard drive for bad software. Quick scan or Long scan methods can be performed. I suggest the Quick scan to start with. Long scan takes a very long time, but does a deep scan of the hard drive.
