You can ignore my request, I sometimes become stuck in "old school" mode, of course the computer can translate your response automatically, thank you.  I will see if this works for me.

Thank you for your help.  I removed all my printer devices, restarted the CPU, then I went to the Windows update page and the HP printer update installed correctly.

I uninstalled one of the printers as TWO HP was showing on my Window Printer.  The error "0x800xfo20b." is now gone!

I tried this fix and did the long version, which took over 24 hours. It still didn't clear. I also did a deep check for malware and came up empty.

I hope someone comes up with a different solution.

I have only one HP printer installed. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it and even when uninstalled this problem persisted. Windows support claims this isn't theirs; HP support claims it isn't theirs.

Sorry, this didn't work for you. I literary juts uninstalled it in Windows and then ran the update and it installed with out a problem. then added the printer back. All this took less than a minute. Hope someone can help you. Maybe you can try to install it in safe mode, windows safe mode ? Have you tried that?

I followed many of the recommendations for this issue.  Some/all might have been important steps, but this step using printui.exe /s and deleting the HP drivers was the FIX!!!  Thank you.  I had already deleted all folder locations  (local files, program files, etc), even some registry locations, use CCleaner, and more.  Nothing worked until I deleted drivers through the printui.exe /s method.

Thank you for posting! This just worked for me when all other suggested solutions failed.

I removed one note and my error persisted. I even had a Microsoft tech run diagnostics. it is still there.
