Hey everyone,

Just thought I'd post on the status of my n012dx. Well I had got it back in November, and it had been good all the way till Jan. 30th. I called and requested a case manager, they sent me a box to return the laptop. After about a week I had gotten an email that said my laptop was repaired, no call from any case manager. I decided I would give it one last try, mind you this was the third time being repaired.

Well today it started acting up again, I called and got transfered from an HP tech to a HP supervisor. The supervisor escalated my case to a case manager. Got transfered to a case manager after being on the phone for about 30 minutes. Ruth which is the case managers name, told me that I would being issued a replacement. She even picked the model off the HP site while I was on the phone with her. I will be receiving the HP ENVY - 15-k020us Laptop, which is fine by me. It is definately an upgrade. And I will be receiving it in a couple of days.

I was pretty much at the point of buying a new laptop! But at the end HP came through, now I'm happy once again! For anyone with the HP Envy M6 n012dx I would definately suggest trying to get a replacement. The case manager said because I had sent mine back 3 times already, the next solution was a replacement.

Big congrats Eddie.

I'm glad HP is doing the right thing.

There's something I've been wanting to post.
It is related to what Jeff said once. So once Jeff mentioned that the problems we are having seem related to some IRQ problems he had seen in the past. No one really paid much attention to this. But then one day someone here in the forums posted that they're computer after it was repaired was better but it was giving him problems mostly when plugging USB devices.
This immediately reminded me of Jeff suggestions that the problems were because of the Irqs.. Now when I checked my envy n012dx the USB ports were being shared with the synaptic bus drivers if I recall correctly.
I've been with my new computer (envy 15k220nr) for almost a month and haven't had issues. And when I check the irqs the synaptic drivers are not being shared with the USB I think they are being shared with the pci something..

My point is.. I'd like for people with working and non working touch pad to post they irqs status. Maybe we can see a pattern here.

Interesting follow up Carlos. It is unfortunate that it's so convoluted or even impossible to

change irq's or memory settings these days.

potentially good news for a fix as a home based tinkerer whos been working on machines since the days of 3.1 i decided to tear into my m6 to see if anything could be done to rectify the control zone possessed touchpad my procedure  after tearing down to the palmrest area i removed 4 total pieces of foil tape grounding the touchpad to the  chassis and then removed it to inspect it out of the palmrest assembly  used electrical tape covering the exposed circuit board on the touchpad  including the one button means it wont click as loud either  and after reassembly it seems to have a complete different attitude  even after restoring the default settings  it still hasnt randomly moved selected things or acted  possessed for the better part of today  i will update if it goes bezerk again but so far soo good mine would start losing its marbles after 10-20 min and i havent had one issue since my modification  your results may vary and dont attempt this if you have any warranty as it will void it  and this is not for the meek

I also took mine fully apart, you can see my in depth posts and pictures if you look at my post history.

Sorry to say the issue will likely return for you. Best advice is to get the laptop replaced

I got my laptop back from repair today. They replaced the touchpad because it still a peel away cover ontop. but if its anything like the laptops ive been reading about in the forum, its not going to last long. But we shall see.

So its no the 1st of March and the mouse has yet to gain self awareness as it did before the repair and i still havent taken off the mouse pad peel cover. So far it seems like the issue has been resolved. For those interested im Using 18.1.7.8 HP Control Zone driver. I'll keep you guys updated if the problems returns.

Connect a couple of USB devices and use it and see what happens.
