HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0003ns
Microsoft Windows 11

Imagem WhatsApp 2024-11-08 às 12.26.28_a8b60961.jpgA few days ago, in the normal act of closing my PC, I heard a craking noise. Without forcing it, I opened it again and noticed that the hinge bent the wrong way, broke and damaged my HP envy's screen. From what I researched, this is a very very common issue with this model and it should be up to the brand to resolve this situation in the best way possible. The PC is only 3 years old and and it's not that cheap 😞

My Envy has had the exact same issue - also purchased in 2022 (approx. 3yrs old). This is also the second time my laptop's L hinge has broken. 1st time it was the hinge attaching to the screen - did exactly as yours did - broken hinge = broken screen (glass & LCD). Luckily, it was under warranty, so no problems, but this time as it is out of warranty (but not out of the Australian Consumer Law's timeframe), HP are really dragging their feet. Discussions with their 'support team' are ongoing and taking forever. Luckily, it's just the hinge that is broken - I do hope it'll get fixed before it develops into the same as you (broken screen).

I wish you luck on getting a repair - only way to do this really is by contacting their support and arguing (very strongly and over a long time) your case.
