I bought a new laptop yesterday and after installing updates the clickpad appears "stuck" down, this is a software issue as I have done a component test, I have tried using another users account on windows to no avail. Not impressed considering its a day old.

I have resolved the issue, HP and Synaptics dont make it clear the driver actually required is now on the Windows Store not the one available on the HP nor Synaptics website. It appears identical in terms of names and driver codes but is the difference between a working and non-working trackpad, it would be helpful if this was clearer on the HP website or even the HP support program 🙂

I've seen mentions of someone who found a setting resolution https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/touchpad-STUCK-in-a-click-like-it-s-b...
But I can't seem to find the Tap again and hold to drag setting they mention.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
- Could you please share the picture of the clickpad?
- What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824
Keep me posted for further assistance.
