Got the laptop today, it's driving me nuts with the idiotic pinch zoom.
No, there is no way to turn it off, the option is simply not there, not even after downloading a new driver at the HP site.
If this can't be fixed the laptop is going back, no way I'll keep a laptop dat drives me so crazy.

Found the solution!!!
1: Type "Elan" in the search bar, if it shows "Elan Touchpad Setting" click on "open".
2: Click "Options" in the EDT Properties screen.
3: Click the "multiple fingers" tab.
4: Uncheck the box at the Zoom tab.

Hi MinetteH, that may have worked if it had an Elan touchpad but it didn't. It was a different manufacturer so I went to their webpage and went through the steps on there and was able to disable the pinch zoom from following those steps. This one has no tab for Multiple Fingers or a Tab for Zoom or a box to uncheck. Its all good now I did get it turned off and my husband was able to use the laptop fine by that night. Thank you and for anyone that does have an Elan touchpad I'm sure this process will work for that 🙂

Hi ilambert,
Have you tried the same route by a search for Synaptics where I searched Elan?
It quite bizarre that you can not alter the thouchpad settings in the settings part but you have to go to the app to alter this kind of stuff.
Sort of the n00b solution while people that aren't afraid to go to the settings can't find it anymore.

Yes I did and ultimately that is what I did to fix it, they gave you instructions on their product website on how to disable it in Windows 10, apparently a lot of people had the same issue so they posted the fix on their page. You can not do it through the regular settings on this laptop, you have to go through the application itself

Have you solved the problem I purchased a new computer a few days ago and had the same pinch-zoom problem with no way to disable? It is now sorted and it was so easy Type ELAN TOUCHPAD SETTINGS in the bottom right search box go to OPTIONS then MULTI FINGER then TAKE OUT THE TICK IN ENABLE click apply and ok and its disabled.
