Latest Bios, and all latest updates are applied. Screen rotates based on sensor/position of screen. But The convertible laptop does not automatically switch to tablet mode when the screen is positioned greater than 180 degrees. Worse, manually enabling tablet mode does not lock the keyboard or the touchpad, so holding it like a tablet your hand will press keys. The keyboard settings dialog box is missing the keyboard lock option.

Finally.
With the latest windows 10 update as of this morning 6.22.2021, the spectrex360-15 appears to function sufficiently.
When the screen is tilted back slightly more than 180 degrees, the laptop keyboard backlights automatically shut off as they should, and the trackpad and keyboard become disabled, as they should. And tilting the machine automatically rotates the screen in the appropriate direction.
Rotation lock remains grayed out in the off position if the machine is in the standard laptop mode, i.e., screen tilted <180 degrees. But you can manually rotate the screen with the keyboard shortcuts CTRL+ALT+[Arrowkey direction].
With a second monitor attached, "tablet mode" becomes greyed out and cannot be enabled. I don't have a secondary touch screen, so i don't know if this would be the case when attaching a touch screen monitor. However, this issue is minor and does not impact my use of the machine.
This solution is satisfactory. Thanks to whomever fixed the drivers, finally.

Welcome to HP Community
I have gone through your Post and would like to help
I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...
HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows is up to date.
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
Keep me posted how it goes
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

I have the latest version of HP Asst' installed and it shows NO Updates available.
HP support assistant: 8.8.34.31
patch: 8.8.34.31
Framework: 12.18,34.21
Config Files: 8.1.05.15.1730
I'm using windows 10 20H2
The issue seems related to the Virtual Buttons Driver. When i install the latest version of virtual buttons driver (for 1809 and later): 2.2.1.31 the auto-lock option greys out in the locked position. I can only manually change the screen position, and entering tablet mode does not disable keyboard or touchpad. If i uninstall virtual buttons driver, then at least the rotation-lock is clickable again, i.e., it ungreys. But tablet mode still does not enable automatically.
The other issue, not sure if related: Device manager shows the proper Display Adapter drivers for
hd graphics 630: 25.20.100.6373 (11/18/2018)
and for radeon rx vega m gl:25.20.15008.2 (12/25/2018)
, but under Monitors tab it only shows Generic PnP Monitor with a generic Microsoft driver from 2006. Is this correct?
Lastly, hp driver support webpage for my machine model shows
Nvidia Graphics Driver (Windows 10 v1809) but my machine will not let me install this driver.

I have check the HP Driver Website and it seems you have all the latest required drivers
At this point I suggest you perform a Refresh or even a Reset if required https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/how-to-refresh-reset-or-restore-your-pc-51391d9a-eb0a-84...

Thank you for your replies, KrazyToad, but I find your last message a little confusing and vague, sorry. Could you explain if you checked the drivers i have installed on my machine, like via my connection with HPSA, or if you checked the self-help webpage hosting the drivers to ensure it has all the correct drivers available? Thanks again for your help.

My apologies. This Notebook seems to be a customized one. Is that correct?
If your Notebook came with Radeon RX Vega Graphics Card then the Nvidia Graphics Driver (Windows 10 v1809) will not install since those are completely 2 different Graphics Cards
Try installing this Radeon RX Vega Drivers https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp95001-95500/sp95392.exe released on Mar 19, 2019

Hi KrazyToad, thanks again for your replies!
You're correct, i do not have that NVidia chip so that makes sense. I have the Intel-Core-i7-8705G-Processor-with-Radeon-RX-Vega-M-GL-graphics-8M-Cache-up-to-4-10-GHz.
I already had that Radeon sp95392.exe driver installed. The HP self-help webpage also lists Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics Driver (Windows 10 v1809 )
Version: 25.20.100.6373 Rev.B
Release date: March 19, 2019.
However, the intel support page for this Intel CPU/Radeon combo chip Downloads for Intel® Core™ i7-8705G Processor with Radeon™ RX Vega M GL graphics (8M Cache, up to 4....
lists these drivers:
This download installs the Radeon™ RX Vega M 18.12.2 Graphics Driver for 8th generation.
Driver Windows 10, 64-bit* 25.20.15002.58
Latest
1/10/2019
Intel® Graphics - Windows® 10 DCH Drivers
This download installs the Intel® Graphics Driver for Xe Dedicated, 6th - 11th generation, Apollo Lake, Gemini Lake, Amber Lake, Whiskey Lake, Comet Lake, Lakefield, Jasper Lake, and Rocket Lake
Driver Windows 10, 64-bit* 27.20.100.9466
Latest 5/14/2021
So you can see there is a difference between the driver versions and the driver dates.
Thanks for your continued help!

Try downloading the drivers direct using the Intel Driver Assistant and the AMD Auto Detect Tool
