I also experienced a touch screen issue on a new HP Chromebook Flip x360 14b-ca0500nd.

The Chromebook works fine out of the box, after Chrome OS updates the touch screen input in y-axis inverted. Touching the upper part of the screen registers on the lower part of the screen, vice versa. Left/Right touch is registering fine.

This inverted touchscreen rendering causes the touchscreen to be completely useless.

The issue is related to Chrome OS for some time now, also impacting Asus Chromebooks. But for some reason, HP ChromeBook x360 models are impacted the last weeks as seen on the negatieve feedback on-line.

I tried wiping, factory reset, Powerwash and using dev or beta channel, but these all don't solve the issue.

Pushing latest OS version without option to go back or halt for some time is for me a serieus reason not to go forward with Chrome OS anymore, exactly for this kind of reason.

As this issue is known for some time and there seems to be no progress in getting it resolved or bypassed, I send my Chromebook back.  I will not be waiting if either HP or Google fix the issue in the feature.

I experienced the same issue after purchasing model #14b-ca0015cl. Out of the box the touchscreen worked perfectly. After an update, the y axis is inverted. Hopefully a fix comes soon or less I am returning the CB.

Hi @mdelgado72

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Apologies for the inconvenience. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps:

Use a HDMI cable to connect the Chromebook to an external monitor and check if the issue persists.

Alternatively, please perform a hard reset of the Chromebook. Sometimes, this will resolve the display issue by resetting the hardware.

For more info on how to use the touch screen on a chromebook, refer to this document

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Thanks for the offer.  I ended up returning the original one I had and getting a replacement at the store.  The new one has been working totally fine.  None of the recommended solutions worked.

@JJN29, that's unfortunate. It seems like it was a hardware issue. Glad that you have a working Chromebook now.

Feel free to contact us with any concerns related to HP products.

Happy to help!

Have the canned answers HP support loves to give solved ANYONE's problems?  What's with wasting people's time?

my touch screen wont work either. what should I do to correct this?

None of the canned HP responses have helped. I cannot recommend HO Chromebooks at this time due to their lack of support.
