Hi,
I am using HP G62 which is also showing a black screen when i turn on the laptop. However the caps lock button does not blink , it actually does not glows at all. I tried to hook the laptop to another screen also, that screen also shows blank(black). Please suggest me the solutions or possible faults.

You could try a hard reset as outlined in this document. Do any lights come on, such as the power button light, indicating that is powered on in some way?

Hi Siboney30. That sounds like a defective display. If it occurs with lines in the BIOS, then it is probably in need of replacement.
Accessing the BIOS Setup menu:

A hard reset it probably the only troubleshooting if it happens in the BIOS.

My fix and a simple one after days of research and trying all possibilities, pull out main battery and keep it out, plug in your power cord, turn power on and let it sit for few hours, this apparently recharges internal battery that wears out from letting labtop sit idle or in sleep mode to much causing it to drain or just replace it with new battery, and voila rebooted, screen came back on and computer has ran fine since.
