I have this issue mentioned in this article, however my laptop does not include the software mentioned to be able to turn off the IR LEDs
https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c02226825 mentions the HP MediaSmart Webcam software
It doesn't look too good when I am talking to my work colleagues and they are too embarresed to ask if I have dyed my hair purple.

Hi Joebot_13,
Unfortunately, that article doesn't apply to your computer.
Does this happen all the time or only in certain applications? You may need to change settings if it only occurs in certain appplications.
Make sure the webcam is clean.
I have heard from some people that HP's webcam are heavily influenced by the lighting situations. They said this issue occurs under Incandescent lighting although I don't know if this applies to you.
Try a system restore if the issue persists. It may be a driver issue although I'm not sure.

Yeah it does seem to be something to do with the lighting. I've tried it in other places in my house and seems fine.
Maybe I'll create a jig or something to cover the ir LEDs when I'm using it for work in the office.

No it doesn't. Regardless of light source the image has purple tint and terrible quality. Only on Hp x360. This is issue has been clearly present and outlined also in YouTube reviews (with video samples) of x360 HP laptops. Pink cast plagues all HP x360 webcams and someone who marked this thread as solved better show some proof, if not I can show a proof how piss poor these HP webcams are.
See this. More linkes there.

You're not the first one with a pink webcam, but if you managed to solve it for yourself good for you. I'm listening. Can you post a picture of how improved your webcam is?
Webcam drivers usually do not cause a color cast by themselves, but I'd be interested to see how well your webcam is performing now. Btw. pls look up my other post to see how well it performs comparing to Acer laptop webcam... a really laughing matter (for HP).

I can approved, that this is problem for the whole model line of hp Pavilion 15 ck007ur. But its really sad, that it's systemic problem that has deal with another type of hp laptop as envy or spectre. I made the experiment. In terms of daylight or white lighting the camera works good. In term of halogen or incandesced lightning everything became the purple. The quality is really awful. Unfortunately the service center or local hp support can't find the resolution. Local hp support said that it is normal. They couldn't find the difference in colors! Service centre finally gave me the document, that it's defect. But they never heard about this problem. So after 6 times of visiting service center and shop I returned the laptop. And today I bought another laptop in another shop. The problem repeated! Salesman were really surprised to see this. Why no one can't help us? And don't answer our questions?
I had the video to proof it.
