On February 7 I decided to update Windows 11 because I had been insisting for a couple of days. This time yes, I even agreed to install the optional updates.
Everything was installed correctly but the next morning the laptop had a hard time "waking up" and after a couple of tries pressing the power button for a few more seconds, I see that in the boot logo the screen had a white halo around the entire perimeter and it persisted even while in windows.... The laptop wasn't even hot.
But since I was already in a hurry to leave my house and I couldn't stop to see what could be happening; I took the laptop, put it in my backpack and just left.
When I got to where I had to go, I turned it on, the halo was still there but I noticed that it was gradually disappearing until after about 30 minutes, the screen was perfectly fine.
Short story: This only happens when the PC is in sleep mode and it is easier for it to happen when it is also charging. The halo is visible even when I enter the BIOS... also some keyboard leds such as the microphone (F5) and the "mute" (F8) and the charge led next to the plug blink like crazy
The problem also persists if I restart the computer.
If I turn off the PC and wait a bit... The problem dissapears. And so I was able to keep working perfectly fine if I cared to turn OFF instead of just closing the lid or suspending.

HP did really messed things up with this update and they really dont know how to solve this.
Momentarily, id suggest you to NOT suspend the laptop... let it hybernate instead.
PS: HP contacted me, but really told me to call support. Nothing really useful ... Nevertheless I'll keep you updated

Hi @CarlosHolz,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you are experiencing white borders on your screen after a Windows Update on Windows 11, it could be due to a number of reasons such as outdated drivers, display settings, or graphics card issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow.
- Check for updates: Make sure your Windows 11 is up to date with the latest updates by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Update Graphics Driver: Outdated graphics drivers can cause issues with your display. You can update your graphics driver by going to Device Manager, finding your graphics card, right-clicking, and selecting "Update Driver".
- Adjust Display Settings: Try adjusting your display settings such as resolution, scaling, and refresh rate to see if it resolves the issue. You can do this by going to Settings > System > Display.
- Rollback Windows Update: If the issue started after a recent Windows Update, you can try rolling back to the previous version by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View update history > Uninstall updates.
- Reset Windows: If none of the above steps work, you can try resetting your Windows installation to its default settings by going to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC.
If the issue persists even after trying all of these steps, you may need to seek further assistance from Microsoft support or a professional technician.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
