i always turn my toupad on, on the upper left corner it turns orange but if i touch the screen it doesn't work but the orange light is still on

I have the same problem my HP 2000 Laptop, I somehow disabled it bu double tappimg the indentation in the upper left did not solve the problem... 

 

Any other solutions?

Hi amandajoann and weywa,

 

This document pertains to HP notebooks with Windows 7 and Windows Vista.  Using and Configuring the TouchPad and locating the TouchPad on/off button.

I found another link to less specific issue regarding the Touchpad, Keyboard or Mouse.
