There are no more upgrades to Windows 7 graphics drivers.

Sorry, but that ship sailed a few years ago.

What does your notebook have for a graphics solution?

Is it Intel Graphics (SoC) only or do you have a discrete graphics model with switchable graphics between Intel and AMD?

What version of the graphics driver is installed? Please provide the specific version number.

Which graphics drivers have you tried to install?  See the following driver download page for your notebook.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-250-g4-notebook-pc/7609933

The downloads web page includes all graphics driver, including those that will not work with your model. They are not all delivered as identical units to customers.

Hi, @frankosas :

You need to install the correct W7 x64  Intel graphics driver for the processor your notebook has.

For notebooks with the Pentium/Celeron processors, you need to install this one...

This package provides the driver that enables the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

If your notebook has a 5th (Broadwell) or 6th (Skylake) generation core processor, then you need to install this Intel graphics driver...

Something isn't right.

The first graphics driver I posted should have worked for W7 64 bit.

Give me the names of the devices showing up under the Other Devices category in the device manager.

Those are the devices that need drivers.

Also give me the names of the devices showing up under the Display Adapters device manager category.

in the other devices section: UNKOWN DEVICE

in the display adapter section: STANDARD VGA GRAPHICS ADAPTER

OK, so you aren't missing many drivers then.

The problem is for some reason, the graphics adapter driver isn't installing.  Probably because you tried too many and have now corrupted the Windows registry.

What I would do under the circumstances is to reinstall W7.

Then install the following drivers in this order, and restart the PC after each installation of the 1st three...

Chipset:

This package contains the Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver for supported notebook models and operating systems. This utility enables the operating system to show the correct name for the installed Intel hardware in the Microsoft Windows Device Manager.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71260.exe

Graphics:

This package provides the driver that enables the Intel High-Definition (HD) Graphics in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. If high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) video output is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72651.exe

Audio:

This package provides the driver for the Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

Ethernet;

This package provides the Realtek Local Area Network (LAN) Driver that enables the Realtek Network Interface Card (NIC) Chip in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71268.exe

Install the applicable wireless driver for the model wireless network adapter your PC has.

USB3:  (install this first if you don't have a DVD drive to burn the files to a DVD with).

This package provides the Intel USB 3.0 Host Controller Driver for supported notebook models running a supported operating system. The driver enables USB 3.0 devices.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72662.exe

Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework firmware

This package contains the driver that enables the Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework firmware. Intel Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework provide system temperature and power utilization information for the system thermal protection to function properly. This package is provided for supported notebook models running a supported operating system

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71262.exe

Card reader:

This package contains the driver that enables the Realtek Card Reader in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The card reader enables users to read from or write to supported removable storage cards, which are typically used in digital cameras, digital music players, and cellular phones.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71001-71500/sp71266.exe

Touchpad:

This package provides the driver that enables the Synaptics TouchPad in supported notebook models that are running a supported operating system. The driver enables general touchpad functionality (for example double-tap and scroll) and provides a user interface.

Post the hardware ID for the unknown device, so I can figure out what driver it needs.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID.
