Welcome to the HP English Community --
Drivers / Software only help when the necessary hardware is installed inside the computer.
Pages 12-13 and 21
Both the Fingerprint reader and the IR camera type are OPTIONAL purchases in this series.
The service guide includes the part number(s) and the installation procedures.
Although Windows 11 is indeed slightly different from Windows 10, the following document does include several key checkpoints and is worth a look:
HP Notebook PCs - Fingerprint reader troubleshooting (Windows 10)
Depending on the model, the fingerprint sensor might be integrated into the top cover / keyboard area. Check your system’s user manual.
Reminder: If the system does not include the fingerprint sensor, there might be a "cover plate" box where the reader would be located.
If your system does not detect the fingerprint sensor and the option is available for your model series, the sensor can be purchased and installed. Check your computer’s maintenance and service guide for the part number(s) and the procedure.

You are welcome.
"Yeah, but..."
If the Device Manager does not detect the hardware,
As far as the computer knows,
There is no such component installed in the computer.
Sure, you could open the case and look inside --
At least for the fingerprint reader, if the hardware exists (working or not),
You will be able to see it as illustrated and described in the service guide.
- Display information -
Look up what your system has installed,
Next,
Refer to your service manual
and / or
Use your browser to search for details on that component type.
Check the System Information app on your computer.
and / or
Find / Check for parts at PartSurfer / HP Parts Store
Reference: HP Notebook PCs - Ordering HP Certified Replacement Parts
PartSurfer might be able to tell you exactly which parts came installed with your device.
- For the most precise results, use your Serial Number for your search
- Reminder: Do NOT post private information (including serial number) in the Community
Open PartSurfer
- Select your Country
- Enter the device Product Number , Serial Number, or Part Number in the Quick Search box
- HINT: To see a system-specific list, replace the Product Number with your device Serial Number
- Items accompanied by a tiny box in the Add-to-Cart column are available for purchase
Parts marked as "n/a" (or are missing from the list) are not available from HP.

Good - If you can do so, please post an image of the Device Manager that lists Biometric devices and the IR camera.
What if?
Unfortunately, if the Device Manager does not find the fingerprint reader, there is no software solution.
That just means, you cannot install a driver to force the Device Manager to detect the hardware.
The same is true for the necessary IR type camera --
If the Device Manager does not detect the IR type camera, there is no software solution to change the camera to IR.
I've not seen a fingerprint sensor fail -- I suspect it can certainly happen. If the hardware were to fail, then sure -- the physical fingerprint sensor component could be installed inside the computer but the Device Manager would not be able to "see" it.
What to do?
Check that the BIOS is updated to the latest version.
Check what is listed in System Information as compared to the BIOS update listed in your drivers.
HP BIOS and System Firmware (T82)
Fingerprint Driver and that for the Camera are located in Software & Drivers
Section Driver-Keyboard, Mouse and Input Devices (5)
I do not have any solution for a fingerprint sensor or an IR camera that are not listed in the Device Manager.
If you get to the point where the Device Manager lists the fingerprint reader and / or the IR type camera, then installing the relevant software might help.
Perhaps another Expert can assist.
=======================================
What else?
If you've been in the BIOS changing features (or not), check that the settings to support the Fingerprint Reader are (still) as expected.
I cannot find a simulator file for your system.
The following is meant as an example and FYI only --
Where mentioned, settings, including those for the fingerprint reader might -- or might NOT - exist in your BIOS .
I do not suggest you make changes to your BIOS nor do I recommend that you touch it in any way.
Fully personal choice...
What if?
Be very careful when working in the BIOS --
Should you break or lock the BIOS for any reason, we cannot help you unlock it.
