Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have to constantly reset my network adapter for my Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n wi fi adapter. This happens several times each day. I run diagnostic in network connections and it resets it. It is only happenign on this notebook and none of my other devices. What can I do to correct this and keep it from happenign once and for all?

Thanks. It's been two days since I took your advice and it seems to be working properly now. I would have never figured that out on my own, so thank you so much for the help. I truly appreciate it.

I spoke too soon. It seemed to be working fine, but now it has again started, albeit not as frequently.

Hello @Justasking4help,

That's odd that it started up again, were there any updates around the time that symptoms started?

Try testing for hardware faults with an external USB.

thank you. I clicked your link and installed the software. I restarted and pressed F2 on reboot and ran the diagnostic tests. Everything checked out fine. I continue to run the network connections.  I am currently getting the default gateway was not found error now. I am being disconnected fron my wifi on a regular basis again.

Hello @Justasking4help,

It appears that the wireless card is not communicating with the motherboard correctly. Try restoring the BIOS, this will cause the motherboard to research all of the installed hardware.

If you are still experiencing issues after that, the wireless card will need to be replaced for optimal functionality. Here is the maintenance and service guide for your notebook.

The compatible wireless cards are listed on page 4. It looks like there are four cards to choose from for this notebook.

Qualcomm Atheros AR9485

Realtek RT8188

Realtek RT8723BE

Realtek RTL8188EE

Thank you, have a great day!
