Bom dia.
Obrigado
Hi.
I have a HP Pavillion ak005np S/N [serial number removed].
I recently upgraded my wifi card (Broadcom 943142) to Intel 3165.
The recommended card in the laptop manual was SPS 806723-005 , I ended up buying the 806723-001.
The wifi has improven, but the bluetooth doesn´t connect, just sometimes if I turn off wifi!
Am I missing something (like Bios settings), or the 806723-001 is not compatible?
Thanks

You're very welcome.
Sorry the 2nd antenna did'n't work (though as I posted the other day, I think they have to be matching cables and tranceivers).
Read the customer reviews on the Edimax device. They seem pretty decent. Seems the weak point is on the 2.4 GHz band, but you will be using AC on the 5.0 GHz band, so that weakness shouldn't matter all that much.

Try installing the drivers direct from the Intel driver download website.
Often, using the drivers directly from Intel make a world of difference.
Install the Proset/wireless Software and drivers and then the Intel wireless bluetooth driver for Windows 10
See the following driver page for your manufacturers drivers.

It could be that the chipset driver is not working very well.
Try using the chipset drivers for Windows 10 that are from the Intel website.
The system board chipset for your notebook is the Intel HM170 (skylake H 2-chip series)
The driver for the chipset is at the following web document.

When I put the card and restart the PC, Windows 10 automatically recognised it and installed the drivers.
Then, as it wasn't working properly, I installed the ones for Windows 10 on Intel site.

HP does have some drivers. Try theirs to see if there is an improvement.

Hi, @mframos84
Usually on notebooks with the Realtek and Broadcom single band wifi adapters, there is only one antenna cable present and connected to the wifi card.
You installed a wifi card that must have two antenna cables connected in order to work correctly.
If your notebook only has one antenna, that is your issue.

Hi Paul.
Are you sure?
Indeed, I only have 1 antenna cable connected!
But this chip Intel 3165 is the recommended for my laptop in its manual.
As my previous chip , broadcom 943142, the intel 3165 appears as 1x1, but dual band.
Doesnt that mean single antenna and cable?
Thanks for your help

You're very welcome.
I am 100% sure that is the problem.
1 x 1 does not mean one antenna and one cable.
1 x 1 refers to the number of data streams up or down the wifi adapter can handle.
Many 1 x 1 cards on older notebooks had two antenna cables connected.
The notebooks in the model series you have that had the Intel 3165 wifi adapter all come with two antenna cables.
You're lucky only the bluetooth doesn't work.
Usually the wifi doesn't work, or both wifi and bluetooth doesn't work.
The only solution would be to order a second antenna cable for your model, and completely disassemble the entire notebook including the display panel area to properly run the second cable.
