My problem in English :

Problem: Unable to project my Windows 11 PC (HP ENVY 360 convertible 15-EU0xxx) onto my Samsung QE55QN85AATXXC TV.
The problem has been occurring for a year now, after a period of normal use.
The PC no longer detects the TV for wireless display. However, it appears on my Freebox network and on the list of components available via Bluetooth.
With Samsung support, I verified that both devices were on the same Wi-Fi network, reset the TV software, and tried again after disabling the firewall. Nothing worked.
With Windows support, I checked all the recommended Windows settings for wireless projection, rechecked the firewall settings, and rechecked the network configuration. They suspect a Samsung firmware or firmware compatibility issue introduced by a Windows 11 update.
Here's their final response: Based on everything you've tried, including resetting the TV, reinstalling the wireless display feature, checking your firewall, and confirming that both devices are on the same network, it appears there may be a compatibility issue between your Windows 11 PC and your Samsung QE55QN85AATXXC TV model.
So, I contacted Samsung again, and their response was: Since we haven't received any feedback on this issue from our customers, we have no solution to offer.
Can you help me?

Hi @taillieu

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like you've already gone through extensive troubleshooting with both Samsung and Windows support, but the issue persists.

Since your HP ENVY 360 no longer detects the Samsung QE55QN85AATXXC for wireless display, despite appearing on the Freebox network and Bluetooth list, the problem likely stems from a firmware compatibility issue introduced by a Windows 11 update.

Potential Fixes:

1. Check Miracast Compatibility

  • Open Run (Windows + R) and type:dxdiag
  • Go to the Display tab and check if Miracast is listed as Available.
  • If Miracast is missing, your laptop may need a graphics driver update.

2. Update Graphics & Wireless Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support page for your HP ENVY 360.
  • Download and install the latest graphics driver and wireless adapter driver.

3. Manually Add the TV as a Wireless Display

  • Open SettingsSystemDisplay.
  • Click Connect to a wireless display.
  • If the TV doesn’t appear, click Find other types of devices.

4. Reset Wireless Display Settings

  • Open SettingsAppsOptional Features.
  • Scroll down and Uninstall Wireless Display.
  • Restart your laptop and Reinstall Wireless Display.

5. Check Samsung Firmware Updates

  • Visit the Samsung Support page for your TV model.
  • Download and install the latest firmware update.

6. Use an HDMI Wireless Adapter

  • If Miracast is no longer working, consider using a Miracast HDMI adapter like Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter.

Let me know if any of these steps help! I appreciate your patience while we work through this.

Hi

many thanks for your advices.

Pleas find bellow the results of my work on you proposals.

1) DXDIAG:

I don't know if I'm in the right place because I only see the following components:

Mouse

Keyboard

Graphics card (AMD Radeon)

Speaker

HIDI 2C device

Miracast doesn't appear

2) HP Updates

In HP support, the updates offered stop at Windows 11 22H, even though my computer is running Windows 24H.

In any case, there are no driver updates for Windows 22H.

3) Manual Method

The TV never appears, and we always fall back on the standard blue window of Windows + K.

4) Reset Wireless Display

I can't find an ‘’optional application’’ section, there is only a ‘’default application’’ section, in which there is indeed a wireless projection application. When I click on it, I find two sections that I can't delete:

- Wireless Display URL: ms-playto-miracast

- Wireless Display URL: ms-projection

5) I'll do this as a last resort because Samsung told me I had the latest updates after resetting my TV.

6) I'm not considering this solution. I'll choose to use a cable instead.

@taillieu

It looks like you've gone through a thorough troubleshooting process, but the issue persists. Based on what you've described, here are a few additional steps to consider:

Further Troubleshooting Steps

1. Verify Miracast Support on Your Laptop

  • Since Miracast doesn’t appear in DXDIAG, your laptop may not support Miracast natively.
  • You can check HP’s Miracast compatibility guide to confirm if your HP ENVY 360 model supports it.

2. Check Windows Wireless Display Settings

  • Open Settings > System > Projecting to this PC.
  • Ensure Wireless Display is installed. If not:
    1. Go to Settings > Apps > Optional Features.
    2. Click Add a feature and search for Wireless Display.
    3. Install it and restart your laptop.

3. Update Windows & Drivers

  • Since HP’s updates stop at Windows 11 22H, your Windows 24H version may require manual driver updates.
  • Check HP’s support page for alternative driver solutions.

4. Try a Different Wireless Display Method

  • If Windows + K doesn’t detect the TV, try Windows + P and select Connect to a wireless display.
  • If the TV still doesn’t appear, consider using Microsoft’s Wireless Display Adapter as an alternative.

5. Samsung Firmware & Compatibility

Since you’re leaning toward using a cable, that may be the most reliable option for now. Let me know if you’d like help finding a high-quality HDMI adapter or troubleshooting further!

Hello,

many thanks for your last advices.

Regading them I wondered if my previous look in DXDIAG was correct.

So I went again inside DXDIAG and finally I found the Miracast application and the indication on it is :

Miracast: Not Supported by Graphics driver

This can explain my problem but doesn't explain why préviously I was able to project with Miracast.

At this point I suppose that your number 3 advice (in your last answer) is the good one :

Perhaps Windows 24H doesn't support Miracast ?

What is your feeling on this ?

Best regards

@taillieu

It looks like Windows 24H2 may have removed or altered Miracast support, which could explain why you were able to use it before but now see the "Miracast: Not Supported by Graphics Driver" message in DXDIAG.

Possible Causes & Solutions

Driver Compatibility Issues

  • The update may have affected graphics or Wi-Fi adapter drivers, preventing Miracast from working.
  • Try updating your graphics driver via Device Manager (Win + X > Device Manager > Display Adapters > Update Driver).

Windows Feature Changes

  • Some users found that rolling back to Windows 23H2 restored Miracast functionality.
  • If Miracast is essential, consider reverting to Windows 23H2 until Microsoft provides a fix.

Check Wireless Display Settings

  • Go to Settings > System > Cast to this PC and ensure the option is enabled.
  • Try reconnecting your TV under Bluetooth & Other Devices.

It’s possible that Microsoft has changed Miracast support in Windows 24H2, but updating drivers or adjusting settings might help. Let me know if you need further guidance!
