This apology is BS. HP is replacing laptops that where purchased at Wally world on black Friday with ones that match the original specs sheet as listed by HP and wally's. All you need is the color copy of the original HP spec sheet and they will work with you. Go to www. Amazon.com/forum/laptop and look for Compaq presario cq58-bf9wm locate memory, and read the 100+ posts about this subject.

sorry for jumping in here late in the game but I have checked my laptop...HP 2000 Notebook PC C2M21UA#ABA (the best description I have found) and it has one 4 gig ram stick in it as well. I am wondering what the maximum Ram I can put in that  one slot? Can I put an 8 gig stick in it? I am running windows 8 in (64 bit) I cannot find anywhere on Hp's site that tells me the Max ram I can run in that slot....I ended up here with a headache and alot of close but no cigar information...A straight answer from someone such as yourself who is knowledgable would be greatly appreciated. (My wife bought 2 of these laptops from Walmart....) The number above is the product number from the specifications page on the computer. Thanx in advance.

Hello El_Capitan,

Your wanting to know how much memory your laptops can support.

On the HP 2000 4gb is the max.

Here is the memory that works for your system. it was in your service manual.

I double checked and @anthony82 is correct in that the HP 2000 Notebook PC bef69wm only supports up to 4 GB of RAM. So to answer your question no you cannot add any additional memory to this computer.
