Hi @GreggWoodcock ,

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publically post ( serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

George

I have the same problem,  the plastic that the screw, screws into broke and so now the screw cannot be screwed in and therefore the hinge is not in place.  This is opviously a design flaw that HP has to be aware of based on all the comliaints easily found on the interent.  I have been purchasing Dell products before this HP and now I have to decide if I made big mistake.  What can you do????

I also have the same problem.  My HP Envy 17 touchsmart laptop had a broken screw mount that rattles around in the case, and the left side of the case seperates near the hinge when I open it.  By the time I figurd out what was borken, the laptop was already ut of warrantee.  It has gotten worse with time, with a crack spreading along the bottom of the case to the ventilation ribs on the bottom just forward of the power button, causing the ventilation ribs to collapse into pieces.  Now I not only have a case that pops open at the seem every time I open it, but also have a hole with sharp edges where the heat vent used to be.  Considering the dozens of other people who have complained here about this same problem, it is apparently a known defect in the manufacture of this case, and should be covered by a recall.  WIll HP rectify this manufacturing defect?

Hi,

Same problem here - 3 screws on the back of my case have come out and the screen wobbles back and forth. The case is starting to come apart at the top, I've tried to find replacement screws online but haven't been able to.

Thanks,

Max

I got a call from an HP customer support rep last night, and HP is going to repair my case at no charge to me. This kind of support in standing behind their usually trouble-free  products is why I have been a loyal HP cusomer (both at work and at home) for over 30 years.  Thanks HP!
