I have this same issue but even a little weirder.  It took me a while to see the pattern but when I type A, what I get is AZ1Q, S = SX2W, etc.  It is literally taking the character, adding the key one below, the key two above then the key one above in a line for nearly every, but not all the keys on my HP DV7.

I'm running Windows 8 and have been for months and this just started out of nowhere.  I have a wireless keyboard and it works fine, and I have tried the on-screen keyboard and it to works fine...that god because I couldn't enter my password in otherwise.

I've installed a new updated BIOS, tried every key combination I've been able to find, deleted and reinstalled all the keyboard drivers, reset my machine, and pretty much anything I could either think of or found searching the web to no avail.  The only thing minorly unusual that I did prior to this was to run Iolo System Mechanic's registry error repair utility.  It fixed a number of issues and once it was done I left for work.  When I came home it was like this.  Any suggestions?  I can work around it with my wireless keyboard so it's not exactly a life-or-death issue but it's dang inconvenient and just so bizzare.  I wonder if it's a hardware failure.

Any new advise or suggestions would be appreciated.

Valstay,

I have a very similar problem.  I have a problem with b, g, h, and n.

Searching shows that this has happened to a few people, but no one has posted their solution.

Do you have one?  I hope?

Peace,
Randy Stegbauer.

Hi Randy,

I see that you are having some issues with your keyboard. I have included a link below to an HP document about troubleshooting your keyboard. Give the Stuck Keys section a look over and try the steps there.

Notebook Keyboard Troubleshooting:

If you can let me know your product number and your operating system we can look at reinstall the driver and see if that helps.

Find your product number on a notebook:
