Thank you for the information.  🙂

At this point, it could be the motherboard or the AC adapter.  To rule out the charger, do you happen to have another charger to try that will work with this system?  Since it won't power on with just the charger connected, it could very well be the charger.

I used to I may have to get another one, looking into this now.

Let me know if you are able to get an extra charger for the notebook.  If possible, try to borrow one from someone or take it to a local PC shop to see if you might be able to test it with one of theirs.  Most local PC shops (there are exceptions) don't mind using one of their chargers temporarily just to see if it will power on or not.

I was able to get another charger, tried the above steps again and no power, the Orange indicator light where the ac adapter plugs in will blink when I try to press the power button. I took the battery out as well. Still nothing.

I am afraid that indicates that it is an issue requiring a hardware repair/replacement on the notebook.  The blinking charger light by the port typically indicates a failed charger, but it is not very likely that two chargers have failed.  It could be a failed DC jack that is triggering the failed adapter light.

What is the product number?  The link below details where to find this information should you need it.

I have the HP Pavilion g7-1150us Notebook. I've had it for 2 or so years and this is the first time it decided not to cut on. I went to turn on my laptop and the screen was black. It wouldn't load up or anything. It also wouldn't let me shut it down by holding the power button. I decided to take out the battery and put it back in, now it won't turn on at all, even if the charger is plugged it.

It was in front of an AC all night so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

If the charger is confirmed to be working, then I am afraid this is indeed a deeper hardware issue. This sounds like the motherboard at this point.

You can try the hard reset which is disconnecting the power, taking out the battery, holding the power button for 30-60 seconds, and then reconnecting the power.

Ok I have tried 2 power cords, and also bought a new battery (and yes since I sell computer parts for a living I am aware that you should always buy NEW batteries) :LaughingTears:

I also tried a hard reset none of this appears to work, pretty sure that since this is over two years old its out of warranty.
