The exact same thing happened to me, except when i plug in the ac adapter, no light turns on what-so-ever. I tried the same adapter on my father's laptop and it works perfectly fine, and I checked my battery on his laptop as well and it' 100% charged. I even tried to unplug everything and puh the power button for 30 seconds then use the adapter, nothing happened. Please help!

My wife's Pavilion dv4-2145dx was running fine until this evening when she tried to turn it on. After pushing the power button, the fan turns on and some of the keyboard lights up like normal, but the screen does not. after a few seconds, the small lights beside the "caps lock" and "scroll/numlk" buttons begin to flash slowly.
We have tried removing the battery and running off of the power supply but to no avail. charge cord indicator light is normal color and steady.
Hoping to at least be able to salvage her data as she inputs daily and hasn't run her back up for a month (Yeah, he's pretty on top of it). Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I was using my hp notebook last night and shut it down when I went to turn it on last night by pressing the power button it will not come back on. When I plug up the power cord it still will not come on and there is not light on next to the power cord plug in. Can anyone help me. Thanks.

Hi Atonement,
Sorry to hear about the power issues. So the notebook will not turn with the battery or with it plugged in. You mentioned that there was no light night to the power cord. It sounds like there could be an issue with the power cord if there is not light. Does the Num Lock and Caps Lock keys flash by any chance? If so, how many times does it flash. Have you noticed any battery issues lately such as the battery always being low or not charging?
Do you have another power cord that you could try? You could also try a hard reset, remove both the battery and power cord. With them removed press and hold the power button to remove any additional power in the system for 20 seconds. Then plug in the power cable and see if it will turn on and then try the battery.
Thank you,
