Well similar or some other new problem may keep on resurfacing as MS has released their OS in a hurry. That's why it is recommended never to go for the new OS as soon as it is released.
But now that you have availed the free upgrade offer, I recommend you to go back to Win 8.1, stay there, and then come back to Windows 10 after a year or more, when we can expect most of such bugs to be fixed. I shall be doing the same if any new problem arises next. Windows 10 has made me very impatient and got on my nerves. Seriously, never seen such a buggy OS ever, buggier even than the beta versions of the flopped Windows 8.

Right. That continues to be an issue even for me. Though my SLEEP issues are apparently resolved, that pops up over and over. After reverting back on driver level it will update and re-appear.
Check this out, however, to prevent that from happening automatically: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930

Along with that, do this thing too. And set, set up your network as a metered connection. But somehow this 19 version of Synaptics driver is working fine with me. Again this is the case of a faulty Windows 10. Working on some and not working on some
Completely unstable platform this WIndows 10 is. Again I dont know why, none of the desktop users are complaining anywhere, looks like there are no problems of Windows 10 on desktops.
P.S.: I seriously can't understand, why I get abused when i post about the issue of Windows 10 on facebook or elsewhere. Those noobs are like, Windows 10 is the best OS I have ever seen. How can it be an improved and Best OS, when it has added so much difficulties. I guess, users hardly faced such issue in Windows 7 and 8.1.

I think I may have something worth trying!
So I was playing around with the notebook today before I put 8.1 back on later and take it to a family member tomorrow and did yet another fresh install with the 10 iso, problem still there.
I checked for an acpi update but there were none so went to select driver from list (from device manager) reselected the only one installed, it prompted for a restart and for the past 2 hours I've been using it (videos, chrome, games) it sleeps correct and wakes up pressing the power button and pressing it or the touchpad to come right back on and lid close and open sleeps and wakes just right. This could be a possible fix, the acpi driver not being set up correctly.
Not that I care that much I'm about to 8.1 it now and do not have a single regret about buying a new MBPr, love it and bootcamp just got official Windows 10 support so maybe in the future I'll Windows 10 with it but tbh I forgot how gorgeous OS X font rendering was compared to the abomination on 8.1+ because cleartype can't work right with modern apps stuff (http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-performance/poor-font-rendering-in-window...

Update : As expected the sleep/shutdown issue has resurfaced again .so i am gonna confirm that its not the Realtek Audio drivers issue. its the windows 10 issue. My decision : going to revert back to windows 8.1 and will not upgrade to windows 10 untill all the issues faced by us is totally fixed.Tired of this **bleep**!! hate you MS/HP .

I had the same problem on a Pavilion dv6z-3100, about 4 years old. During testing Windows 10 I noticed that the graphics drivers that installed with Win 10, including trying the update path, lost sleep mode. Just for grins I installed the Windows 7 graphics drivers. That brought back sleep mode but caused other problems. Bottom line, I reverted to Windows 7 and will stay with it until HP provides drivers that permit operation under Win 10 that matches what Win 7 provides.

Elitebook 840 G1
My best friend theese days are recovery images and restore points, and has been since Win8.
I have learned as years has gone as I've been working in companies using HP/Compaq pc's since the late 80's. (But this model has been a nightmare, driver wise, not at least the 4G-module with GPS. 6 months with mails back and forth with HP and I gave up.)
My model, as mentioned many pages back, had the sleep problem i Win8 and Win8.1. That time new Intel HD Graphics driver, in combination with AMD-drivers solved the sleep problem.
1. First try, upgrading from Win8.1, after bios update, via Win10-update icon in taskbar.
-Sleep didn't work. Fingerprint didn't work(Simplepass), playing music with Grove was only
stuttering, VLC-player was ok.
2. Second try. Clean install from downloaded ISO.
- Sleep mode didn't work, UNTIL I discovered the OFF/OFF setting on hybrid sleep in the powerplan.
- Fingerprint did work when setting PIN-code and with Windows Hello. FN+F8 mute mic didn't work, and playing music with Groove was stuttering.
3. Third try. Restored recovery image from Win8.1 and updated to Win10 via MS Download tool directly, not ISO.
- Sleep mode didn't work. Set hybrid mode to ON/ON. Sleep working ok.
- Fn+F8 mute mic button is working.
- Deleted my fingerprint i Simplepass and created a new one. Simplepass is working.
- Playing music with Groove still stuttering. Looking at every menu items/settings that has to do with sound, and for some unknown reason playing music with Groove are now sounding good.
So after my third try, and quite a few different tries in between, my WIn10 installation is working ok. (Except a minor one after the third try. Text seems more blurry, after running Cleartext too.)
So again, created a restore point and yet another recovery image.

@SM71794 wrote:I apologize if this has already been suggested but disabling the network adapters from waking up my PC seems to have fixed my problem (I figured if it was already mentioned, it would appear in the main post by now). So far, I'm able to turn off my computer and have it go to sleep, if it hasn't been posted yet then I hope this helps.
1.) Go to Device Manager.
2.) Go to Network Adapters. For me, I have four devices in my section, but the one that has primary settings for me is the Intel (R) Dual Band Wireless-AC. This may be different (especially if you don't have Intel) but your primary adapter should have a section called Power Management.
3.) Right click and go to properties. As mentioned prior, go to Power Management.
4.) There should be a setting called "Allow this device to wake the computer." Uncheck this.
5.) Turn off your computer, put it in sleep mode, etc.
After several tries, my computer seems to be working normally. I also suggest updating your drivers (as mentioned in the main post, this was also a temporary fix for me). Again I apologize if this was already mentioned, but I hope that this helps anyone else with the same problem.
Well, when I went to do this, it was already unchecked, so I can confirm this is not the solution, at least for me.

Finally i have time to reinstall my laptop
My Laptop Model is HP-Pavilion-14-Notebook (14-v042tx)
After compared between Sibu16 and Sat3rn's solution and based on my experiences, i've conclusion that both ways are the same processes but with different taste.
As I said before, i don't like the concept of installing new OS from old OS. I always install my new OS on every devices (including android) with fresh and clean install.
OK, here we go
Note: this is my steps for now is only work for me and maybe it's not working with other machines. If u disagree with this steps, skip this post. If u have questions, ask nicely.
- Update BIOS to F.42 from my old Win 10.
- Re-Download ISO from MS Tool Kit (I choose 64bit version only)
- Burn the ISO to flashdrive with Rufus (U have to know what is your harddrive format, is it MBR or GPT? If u choose the wrong format u will failed to install the windows)
- Wipe Out / Formating my partition of Win 10 and install the new one.
- Washing my clothes while waiting for the installation (Seriously, go do something rather than sit down and waiting)
- OK from here is the crusial steps to make your machine "die" normally. Do not connect to any network / internet after the installation complete. It will asking u to connect to your wifi, just skip it.
- Create the local account first, don't connect to your Micrrosoft Account, u can do it later.
- Wait until u can login to desktop.
- Goto Control Panel > System > Advanced System Setting. Click Hardware tab > Device Installation Settings
- Choose "No, Let me choose what to do" and "Never Install Driver from Windows Update".
- Untick "Automatically get device app bla bla bla... ", click save changes.
- Connect to your internet to make your windows active and immediately discconect it after your windows is activated.
- Prepare your Win 8.1 driver. Make sure you are not connected to any network before all necessary drivers are installed.
- Do not install all your available drivers. Go to your Device Manager and look for device that have exclamation sign / unknown device. Only install the driver for your unknown device.
- This is the list of my drivers that i need to install (including the file names and the sequances of installation):
- sp66095 - Intel Chipset Installation Utility and Driver (for win 8.1)
- win64_154004 - Intel Display Driver (for win 10, I can't install the win 8.1 or win 10 driver for this device, it always show the incompabilty warning. I download it from Intel's website)
- 353.62-notebook-win10-64bit-international-whql - NVIDIA Display Driver (for win 10, Download it from NVIDIA's Website)
- sp66098 - Intel Management Engine Interface (MEI) Driver (for win 8.1)
- sp66102 - Intel Smart Connect Technology Driver (for win 8.1, I don't need this but still need to install it. Disable it from Task Manager StartUp after install).
- sp66106 - Realtek Card Reader Driver (for win 8.1)
- sp63786 - HP 3D DriveGuard Software (for win 8.1)
- sp71829 - HP Wireless Button (for win 10)
- sp66144 - Broadcom Bluetooth Driver for Microsoft Windows (for win 8.1)
- sp66414 - Broadcom 802.11bgn WLAN Driver and Utility (for win 8.1, Win 10 already have this driver installed, but it's buggy. Some of my wifi signals in my house are low detected. Back to normal after install the driver)
- After all drivers installed, then I continue next steps. (Notice that I don't install my Audio Driver because i don't have exclamation sign in my device manager. And this is my mistake for my next steps).
- Connect to the internet to check available windows updates. Meanwhile i also install bluestack to play "Hay Day" while waiting windows update.
- In the middle of playing i check the windows update, and guess what..... it's downloading Realtek Audio Driver.
- Immidiately disconnect internet to stop the download process. But the Realtek Audio Driver is still on the windows update list. And I need to get rid of it.
- Open TaskManager. Click Services Tab. Find service: "wuauserv" (Windows Update). Right click it, and stop. Wait until the status is stopped. If it's running again, Stop it again. it will stop for sure.
- Open Run App (Win+R), and type %windir%\SoftwareDistribution
- Goto DataStore Folder and delete all files and folders in that folder.
- Restart your machine.
- Install sp66107 - Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver (for win 8.1)
- Turn on again the Windows Update from Task Manager
- Check your Windows update again and this time no Realtek Audio Driver in the list.
- It's also downloading Alps Pointing Device Driver and Logitech USB Input Devices (but since there's no error report for this driver, i let windows to update it)
- Wait until all available update are downloaded. And restart machine to install it.
- Done.
For my next test, i set my laptop to never sleep on Power Option for both on Battery and Plug in.
From this point i let my machine wakes all night long while I playing Hay Day in it. And then go to sleep (My machine is still on). Wake this morning and run the next tests.
- Restart my machine - Good - No Power Loosing, The light in Power Button never goes off not even a sec and turn on again smoothly.
- Playing Hay Day (in BlueStack) for more than a hour.
- Sleep (by closing the lid) - Good - My Power Light is blinking and should be blinking. Open the lid and wakes normally.
- Playing Hay Day (in BlueStack) for more than a hour.
- Shutdown - Good - All lights are off and no freezing condition.
- Type this post for more than a hour (type this and copy it to notepad to paste it again here)
- Sleep (Good), Shutdown (Good), Restart (Good)
- Post my step in this thread.
My Next Steps is install all My Applications.
Again, this steps is not a or the solutions. This is my solutionn for me only. U can follow it if u want. Skip it if u disagree.
