When I clicked Update driver for Intel HD, it start downloading a new driver which made me chill, but when it's done I find out they replcaed my new driver dated 17/7/2015 with an older one (10.18.15.4248), dated 6/29/2015! Any clue?!
Edit: Just tested the sleep here and it's working! I did nothig but browsing all this time between the post and editing it so nothing confirmed yet.
Btw, S3 Sleep Supported is true but this is since yesterday, I guess it's after I disabled Hibernate with:
POWERCFG /HIBERNATE OFF command, I really don't rememer all the trails and errors I have made. Crazy!

That's what happened to me LAST time I upgrade. Currently I am on 4256 and I am not updating it.
...by the way, if this is the resolution (which I still say is bonkers) you can give the credit to whoever you like. I certainly did not suggest it first. However, I still think that the BIOS upgrade MAY HAVE affected it but I still don't know.
I will admit to being wrong in my assessment WHEN I am convinced this worked. I am still not...but....
I just DID SLEEP it after 3.5 hours now. 12:47 PM ET US
So...who knows!!????

For the record, while this sounds like it could potentially be a remedy, it is NOT a replacement for an actual fix. Millions of users across hundreds and hundreds of various desktop and laptop models upgrade through the prompts provided by Windows. If that process somehow leads to this issue, Microsoft or HP still needs to come up with a fix for those who upgraded in this manner.
Telling everyone to revert to Windows 8.1 and then re-upgrade to Windows 10 using a different method would NOT be a satisfactory response from either company.

@Tom_Hack wrote:Unfortunately after scouring all the forum posts here and on Microsoft, Dell etc and looking at the various community suggested approaches and their outcome; its evident, there is no permanent working fix for these issues:: partial shutdown, unable to wake-from-sleep and failure to sleep.
There is radio-silence from Microsoft and HP/others since last 2 weeks, with absolutely not a single word of assurance of a fix-in-works let alone even acknowledging this issue. It seems , we will all have to step-up our fight and go blog all over social media / forums about this issues within our respective sphere of influence . Seems that's the only way to wake up this 'sleeping mammoths' and take notice to this serious issues.
Is this truly the biggest thread on this issue on any forum? I first started following posts on the answers.microsoft forum, but once I found this one when it was bout 50-100 posts in, the microsoft forum pretty much started getting less and less posts when people started realizing no solution was going to work long term. I can't find anything on the intel forums, Intel or any other graphics driver manufacturer looking to be the main issue with this since on some other posts on this forum, the officiai HP responses say that they're waiting for Intel to do something (Just look for other posts with probably 2 or 3 replies, one of them being someone from HP).
I wonder if this issue is also plaguing new laptops (from HP, Dell, Toshiba, etc.) that mostly are being bought for college, high school, work, etc. and if we'll see a mass of complaints from people who are doing some homework or whatever on their new laptop, close it thinking the sleep or shutdown works, and then get the issue. Does anyone in this forum so far have one of the recently new laptops, maybe one they bought from Best Buy or whatever with Windows 10 installed?

Although 3.5 hours does sound promising. There's been times when I've messed around with drivers and had a temporary fix for the majority of the day, only for the problem to resume again the following day. Come back and let us know it's still going well later and again tomorrow and I'll consider it a fix! Thanks for trying it out too!
