@cardiodoc2006 - if i remember well i didn't touch adjsuting sensitivity and I just installed my Vista touchpad driver and right now everything(touchpad) works great.
I would suggest you to uninstall the current touchpad driver then check for updates on Windows Update.

Is there a chance for demonstration which will show us all problems with ALPS touchpad driver posted in upgrade guide?
You may make a movie with BSR Screen Recorder and upload it on YouTube.
I've got two conflicting reports. One users are saying then it's working great and other are saying then it's not working well.
This will show us how this problem looks.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Daniel,
I followed exactly your instruction but still could not get HP-QuickPlay worked. Here are the step that I did:
1. Unistall HP Quick Launch Button in Safe Mode (F8)
2. Uninstall HP Quick Play
3. Install HP Quick Launch Button first
4. Install HP Quick Play
It still show a black screen for a few seconds and quickly go back to Windows Screen whenever I run QuickPlay (by either pressing the button or running the program from hard-drive)
I run on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit.
Any other idea of what may be?
James

Uninstall this version which you've got and try Vista HP Quick Play version from C:\swsetup folder.

I posted my message here because this thread was specifically about dv2000 Series portables, and that's what I have. HP makes a lot of computers. I assumed these particular issues might be related to this specific hardware.
By moving my message elsewhere, haven't you moved it away from the people who've experienced and solved these kinds of problems, and are most likely to be able to help me?

Both things which You posted are not related with this guide.
That's why I moved it to own topic.

Hi Daniel,
I have installed the QP 3.7 but run it in Vista SP2 Compatibility Mode and guess what, it works! It even asks for an update (web-patch) though nothing change much.
Regarding to sensitivity of the Trackpad, I have found that, if I press and hold the button while touching the pad, the mouse is shaking. But if I only press and release the left-button while touching the pad, it is OK. This scenario happens when you have to select some options (check-box) from a list.
Anyway, both of my issues are solved and I have got a new one comes right up: Nvidia Driver for GeForce 8400M GS series. After playing CoD-Modern Warfare for about 2 hours, the display is pixelated and tend to crash the system. A reboot will put it back to normal. I visit the Nvidia website and just found out that they have realease a newer version (official) on 15 June 2010. It's now 257.21. However, when I did a clean installation of this driver (i.e uninstall completely the old 197.16, reboot, install the new) then there is a crash (pixelated, distorted screen and system hang). Finally, when I used the update from Device Manager, it works! Strange!
Hope this info help other people in the forum to trouble-shoot their problem!
James

First tnx for information about new Nvidia drivers.I'm not so sure that after this last step you are using this Nvidia latest drivers.
If You used update from device manager then I think that You are using driver from Windows Update now. (It's without PhysX and HDMI.)
Go to device manager and in display adapter category click with right button of Your mouse on Your graphic card. Choose there Driver tab. Which version You see there?

Hi Daniel,
Regarding to the screen capture, I will try and upload the mov as soon as I got some free time.
Regarding to the Nvidia Driver, here is the info I got from Device Manager:
Driver Provider: Nvidia
Driver Date: 6/7/2010
Driver Version:8.17.12.5721
Digital Signer: MS Windows hardware Compatibility Publisher
Hope this help
James
