Hi Lasith87,

I saw your post did some research and I found something that may work. The link below is for a third-party forum were someone was having the opposite problem that you are it was very dim which also occurred after updating to 8.1. The solution was to change to a Standard VGA Adapter. Look at Popeye's posts.

I update everything from HP and Intel, but nothing wil work, the Function keys are working except F7 and F8. And in the energy settings on control panel is no option to change anything.

Please fix me out, because my warranty is expired and it will cost me alot of money. Thanks 🙂

Hello everyone,

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I understand you cannot adjust brightness on your computer and the display is dim. I'll do my best to help! Try this method of adjusting screen brightness:

1. Go into Control Panel. Search "brightness" and click on "Adjust screen brightness".

2. You can adjust brightness with the slider at the bottom. You also have access to other options on the left-hand side.

Please let me know your results. Thanks!

That's the problem, I don't have that option in Control Panel

Really? Can you provide a screenshot of you performing step 1 to see what options are available when you search "brightness" in Control Panel?
