Replace this

HP ProBook 4730s 4530s GENUINE DC POWER JACK WITH CABLE

The fix for the short I posted earlier was a temp fix at best. Replacing the part fixed the issue since last post.

Laptop was not charging at all. Tried these steps and now the battery is charging.

Thank you. You are life saver.

This 40sec routine has really worked, thank You very much for sharing, but, unfortunately, for a short period of time (until next boot up). Looking up further for a solution.

I had the same problem with my HP 4530s after upgrading my BIOS to F.40 version. Nothing helped: nor 40sec routine, reinstalling battery in windows... What I just needed to do is rollback my BIOS to earlier version, in my case F.30 (you have option for this in BIOS menu - enter the BIOS menu by holding F10 key during startup - and you will find option for rolling back your BIOS).

Enjoy the solution and think twice before upgrading your BIOS next time. 😉

Hello. sorry to sound 'special' but i have followed the 40 second fix, also restored default BIOS. the part that i need to replace, is that the power adapter cord, or the battery power pack in teh back of the machine?

when i look here in Australia for HP parts, i get AC power adapter,

but nothing with DC Power Jack with Cable.

Presuming these are the same thing but dont want to fork out cash for something that ultimately wont resolve my problem.

thanks In advance, and thanks for the temporary fix, as that has at least got me back using the lap-top (and on the lounge - the office feels like pergutory)

🙂 🙂

The steps 1-7 you gave worked, but when I tried 8, I installed the battery, and pressed th power button, nothing happened.  I would try to update my bios, but if the notebook won't turn on, how do I update the BIOS?!?

Thank you sir!
