is it also compatible for windows vista home premium 64 bit operating system?

thanks for your immediate response!

HP Recommended

Yes, it should be fine.

I don't know why they left the other Vista OS's out.

They show Vista Home Basic.

HP Recommended

Ok what's next? I have installed the driver but still my computer cannot enable my wifi network.

HP Recommended

Is the driver installed properly?

Do you now see the Atheros wireless card listed under the network section of the device manager?

Does it report working?

If so, there is some other issue that I wouldn't be able to help you with, as troubleshooting network connections is not an area with which I have much experience.

Hi:

Neither of those ID's are for the wireless card.

This should be the driver for the PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8168:

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&swItem=ob-755...

This should be the one for the card reader (or use the one from your PC's support and driver page.

There are dozens and dozens of dv6 models, so I don't know exactly what driver you need.
