The Software Licensing sub forum contains the following FAQ post => here <=
Above shows how to simply logon to our support portal and you can check your entitlement.
If this is an urgent issue you may want to work with your Polycom reseller and / or Polycom support directly.
The Unit seems to have been sold back in 2006 and the only software available / entitled at present is 8.7
Have you got any specific requirements as you did not mention why you need an upgrade key before your conference tomorrow.

Checking against your provided serial the License for a 9.0 Software upgrade is U03C-5188-5460-0000-0384

Most likely you will need a Polycom reseller. You unit was sold back in 2007 via the North-West Group

Hi, we recently purchased new polycom V500 unit...its software is from 2004 (version 7) and as I understood I need to upgrade to more recent version in order to have it working with other video conferencing unit.
I followed instructions from your link, and when entered serial number no licence number is showed...I could not activate device or get the key for upgrade...I downloadad new firmfare but can not run it without upgrade key.
In box package (new unopened as I said) no licences, also not on CD that came with it..only product numbers.
Can someone assist me with this in order to get this thing work.

Hello nklak,
welcome to the Polycom Community.
I am a bit hesitant calling this a "new" unit as the V500 registered with this 82044603EF00B0 serial number was sold via Go Telecom B.V. back in November 2004.
The details above making this unit nearly 11 years old so I am struggling to call this new.
Usually units sold come with one year warranty entitling the customer to free upgrades during this one year.
As this entitlement ran out 10 years ago I can only ask you to contact the seller of the unit so they can look into a way of getting you a maintenance contract with Polycom in order for any possible software upgrade.
