Hi @Firsttracks

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining the issue—I'm really sorry your HP ENVY Inspire 7255e is skipping lines even with fresh cartridges. When lines are missing at regular intervals, it’s usually due to clogged nozzles, misaligned printheads, or driver-level rendering faults

Let’s walk through a focused recovery process to restore clean output:

Step-by-Step Fix: HP 7255e Skipping Lines

1. Run Printhead Cleaning

  • On the printer’s control panel or via HP Smart:
    • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead
    • Follow the prompts and print a test page.

This clears dried ink or air bubbles that cause line gaps.

2. Align the Printhead

  • In HP Smart or on the printer:
    • Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead
    • Let the printer print and scan the alignment page.

Misalignment can cause consistent line skipping, especially with new cartridges.

3. Print Diagnostic Page

  • From the control panel or HP Smart:
    • Go to Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report
    • Review the page for missing blocks, faded lines, or color inconsistencies.

This helps confirm whether the issue is mechanical or software-based.

4. Reinstall Cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Remove both cartridges and inspect for:
    • Protective tape still attached
    • Dust or ink buildup on contacts
  • Reinsert firmly until they click.

Even brand-new cartridges can misfire if not seated properly.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Firmware updates often improve printhead calibration and ink delivery.

6. Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool (Windows)

Install or Open HP Smart

  • Download from the Microsoft Store.
  • Launch the app and sign in with your HP account if prompted.

 Access Diagnose & Fix

  • Select your printer from the home screen.
  • Click Printer Settings.
  • Scroll to Diagnose & Fix.
  • Click Start and let it run a full scan.

It will automatically detect and resolve common issues like scanning failures, connection drops, and driver conflicts.

Let me know what you see on the diagnostic page or if the issue persists after cleaning—I’ll guide you further. You’re doing everything right by catching this early—I’ll stay with you until it’s resolved.
