Microsoft Windows 11

i HAVE A 7740 PRINTER.. IT APPEARS HP HAS STOPPED MAKING THE 956 AND REPLACED IT WITH THE 952 BLACK CARTRIDGE. THE 952 DOES NOT WORK IN MY 7740 PRINTER. WHAT TO DO???

1.2. Use Recommended Cartridges

  • Verify Cartridge Number: Ensure that you are using the correct cartridge number for your printer model. HP 952 cartridges are designed for different models, such as the HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 and other Pro series printers.

2. Obtain Correct Cartridges

2.1. Purchase HP 956XL Cartridges

  • Buy from HP or Authorized Retailers: Purchase the HP 956XL cartridges from HP directly or from authorized retailers to ensure compatibility and authenticity.

2.2. Avoid Generic Cartridges

  • Use Genuine Cartridges: Ensure that you are using genuine HP cartridges, as third-party or refilled cartridges might not be recognized by your printer.

3. Troubleshoot Printer and Cartridge Issues

3.1. Reset the Printer

  • Perform a Reset:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Unplug it from the power source.
    3. Wait for about 60 seconds.
    4. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

3.2. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Reinstall Cartridges:
    1. Open the cartridge access door.
    2. Remove the cartridge and reinstall it, making sure it clicks into place.
