When copying on my 8610 and using the Automatic Document Feed (ADF), a line appears funning up and down on the page of the copy output page.  Is this a cleaning issue on the ADF?

@jimpaynter9, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I understand there is a vertical line on copies. This seems like an issue with the scanner mechanism. I believe printing should be fine.

 

Perform the steps mentioned in this document - Resolve scan quality problems on HP printers

 

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

If the line persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue. This part cannot be replaced.

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.
