  • After replacing ink cartridges i got a message "ink sensor failure " 
  • I tried to solve the problem by reseating the printhead but it didn't work and still getting the same message.
  • The printer model is  Hp 8600 plus.

Are you using HP ink cartridges?

Try with an alternate(old/new) ink cartridge and check for the error. If you get the same error for 2 different ink cartridges, it means this is an issue with the printhead.

If it is just one ink cartridge producing the error, it could be a defective one. You may insert one ink cartridge to check the same.

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the replacement options for the defective HP ink cartridges or the printer(under warranty). 

You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.

If the printer is out of warranty, replacing the printhead may or may not resolve this issue.
