@Morskoul, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding an alignment issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your HP DeskJet 3760 is not aligning the cartridges properly despite multiple attempts and a reset, try the following steps to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Ensure the cartridges are installed correctly and are genuine HP cartridges.
  • Open the printer cover, remove the cartridges, and reinsert them firmly.

2. Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Remove the ink cartridges and use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to clean the gold contacts on the cartridges and inside the printer.
  • Let them dry completely before reinserting.

3. Use HP Smart App for Alignment

  • Open HP Smart on your Windows 11 device.
  • Go to Printer Settings > Tools > Align Printhead.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

4. Manually Align via Printer Software

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP DeskJet 3760 and choose Printing Preferences.
  • Navigate to Maintenance > Align Printhead and follow the instructions.

5. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Outdated firmware can cause alignment issues.
  • Update your printer firmware via HP Smart App or download the latest firmware from HP website.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Sorry but I never found the way to do a manual alignment of the printer via Printer software : I don't have maintenance menu in the printing preferences
As it is a printer on a professional laptop, the access for the firmware updates are blocked by admin and cannot be accessed from hp smart ...

Thanks anyway for the answer

@Morskoul, I understand you're experiencing an issue with your printer that is stuck on alignment page.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.

Please follow the steps below to fix the issue.

A) Perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

C) Refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot.

D) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to restore factory defaults and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
