I have an OfficeJet 7500A E910 printer. Recently the blank ink stops printing. The first time it happened, I cleaned the print heads and changed the ink cartridge then it started working fine. It stopped printing again and the cartridge is still new. What is the cause and how do I fix it?

Hi @gui0902,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format e-All-in-One Printer is not printing black ink again despite having a new cartridge, here are some possible causes and steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Possible Causes
- Clogged Print Heads: Even after cleaning, the print heads may still have dried ink or clogs.
- Ink Cartridge Issues: The cartridge may be defective or improperly installed.
- Printer Settings: The printer settings may be configured to use color ink instead of black.
- Firmware Issues: Outdated firmware may cause performance problems.
- Electrical Contacts: The electrical contacts on the cartridge or printer may be dirty or not making proper contact.
Troubleshooting Steps
Run Print Head Cleaning:
- Use the printer's built-in cleaning function. You can usually find this option in the printer settings under "Maintenance" or "Tools."
Check Ink Levels:
- Even if the cartridge is new, check the ink levels to ensure it’s not empty or low.
Remove and Reinstall the Cartridge:
- Power off the printer and remove the black ink cartridge. Check for any protective tape that might not have been removed.
- Reinstall the cartridge securely and power the printer back on.
Clean the Electrical Contacts:
- Gently clean the copper contacts on the ink cartridge and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with water. Be careful not to touch the print head.
Adjust Printer Settings:
- Ensure that the printer is set to use the black ink cartridge. Go to the print settings on your computer and check that it's not set to print in grayscale or color-only.
Run a Print Quality Diagnostic:
- You can print a diagnostic page to check for print quality issues. This option is typically found in the printer settings.
Update Printer Firmware:
- Check the HP website for any firmware updates for your printer and install them.
Perform a Factory Reset:
- As a last resort, you can try resetting the printer to factory settings. This might resolve any underlying issues but be aware that it will erase all custom settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
