Ink is ½ full. Ran cartridge clean, and then deeper level clean. Still has blank lines in printout.

Hello @AAHLHA, and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I understand you're experiencing blank lines in your printouts, even though the ink levels are sufficient and you've already run both the standard and deep cleaning cycles. Let's work through a few more steps to resolve this issue.

Check the Printhead Alignment

Misaligned printheads can cause blank lines or streaks.

  • On your printer's control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead (menu names may vary slightly by model).
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment.

Manually Clean the Printhead

If automatic cleaning didn’t help, a manual clean might be necessary.

  • Remove the ink cartridges.
  • Gently clean the printhead contacts and cartridge nozzles using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Let everything dry for 10 minutes before reinserting the cartridges.

Print a Diagnostic Page

This helps identify which color or cartridge is causing the issue.

  • Go to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report.
  • Examine the page for missing lines or color blocks.

Use HP Smart App for Troubleshooting

The HP Smart app can run diagnostics and provide tailored solutions.

  • Download or open the app: HP Smart App
  • Select your printer > Printer Settings > Print Quality Tools > Run diagnostics.

Replace the Problematic Cartridge

If one cartridge consistently shows issues despite cleaning, it may be defective. Try replacing it with a new genuine HP cartridge.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
