I'm trying to reinstall a printer I've used on my computer in the past, but it's prompting me to install the SETUP ink cartridges to complete the setup. I've already used the SETUP ink cartridges when I originally installed the printer. Any suggestions on how to bypass this? Thank you!

Hi @Nikiki0707,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I Understand how bad it feels When setting up an HP DeskJet 2755e printer, it is common to encounter a request to use the SETUP ink cartridges that were supplied with the printer.

These cartridges are used during the initial setup to properly calibrate and initialize the printer.

If you've already utilized the SETUP cartridges during a previous installation and are facing this issue upon reinstallation, here are some steps and tips you can consider:

Check for Printer Memory Reset

  • If your printer was reset or underwent a firmware update, it might be requesting the SETUP cartridges again. Unfortunately, there isn’t a typical bypass for this requirement, but there are some steps you might consider.

Use the Original SETUP Cartridges

  • If possible, locate your original SETUP cartridges. If they still contain ink and are operational, you can insert them to complete the setup again.

Firmware Update

  • Ensure your printer's firmware is updated to the latest version. Occasionally, a firmware update can resolve setup issues. Check the HP support website for any available updates for your printer model.

Reinstall the Software

  • Uninstall and then reinstall the printer software on your computer. Sometimes software glitches can cause communication issues between the printer and your computer.

Take care and have an amazing day!
