SAMSUNG CLP 325W
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello, my Samsung CLP 325w printer started printing with a yellow horizontal line, looking at:

I changed the cylinder, the belt and the cartridges, but nothing helped.

It always happens on the first printed page, the rest are normal.

Can anyone help me?

Hi @RodrigoSantanna ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing an issue where the first page printed from your Samsung CLP 325w shows a yellow horizontal line, but subsequent prints come out fine. This type of problem is typically caused by a few potential factors. Here are some troubleshooting steps that might help resolve the issue:

1. Toner Cartridge or Drum Issues

  • Even though you've replaced the toner cartridges and the drum (cylinder), it's possible that one of the new parts is defective, or it may not have been installed properly.
  • Double-check the installation of both the toner cartridges and the drum to ensure they are seated correctly. If the drum has a protective film or cover that was missed during installation, it can cause printing issues.

2. Toner Misalignment or Residue

  • Sometimes, toner can get misaligned or leave residue on the drum or rollers, which can cause print anomalies like lines on the first page.
  • Remove the toner and drum again and gently shake the toner cartridges to distribute the toner evenly. Also, clean the toner roller and drum with a soft, lint-free cloth.

3. Fuser Problems

  • The fuser (which bonds the toner to the paper) may not be heating properly or could be malfunctioning. Since the problem is only on the first page, it could be related to the fuser not fully engaging when the printer first starts up.
  • Inspect the fuser for any visible damage, debris, or toner build-up. Cleaning the fuser unit can sometimes help. However, if the fuser is worn out, replacing it may be necessary.

4. Printer Warm-Up Cycle

  • The issue may only occur on the first page due to the printer's warm-up cycle. Sometimes, when the printer first starts up, it may leave residual toner on the fuser or drum. After the warm-up cycle, the toner might be applied more evenly on subsequent pages.
  • Try printing multiple copies of the first page (or a test page) to see if the issue resolves itself as the printer warms up.

5. Firmware or Driver Issues Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date, especially since you are using Windows 11. Sometimes driver issues can cause strange printouts.
  • Visit Samsung’s or HP’s (since Samsung's printer division was acquired by HP) official support site to download and install the latest drivers for the CLP 325w.

6. Check for Paper Issues

  • Although less likely, the type of paper you're using can sometimes affect the first page. If the paper is too thin or damp, it may cause the toner to transfer poorly during the initial print.
  • Make sure you’re using the correct paper type, and store it in a dry environment.

7. Reset the Printer

  • As a last resort, try resetting the printer to its factory settings. This can sometimes clear up strange print behavior.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, there may be a deeper hardware issue (such as a defective fuser or a problem with the printer’s internal sensors)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
