I don't print much so it never made sense to enroll in the Instant Ink program. I purchased an HP Ink cartridge about a year ago and just tried to use it and I get the error "Cartridge can not be used until printer enrolled in HP Instant Ink program" Here is a screen capture of the order where I purchased the cartridge. It says "eligible for Instant Ink" but I assumed that didn't mean I needed to be registered in order to use it and I know I'm not registered because I haven't received any ink cartridges since purchasing this one about a year ago. I need to print something ASAP, a form my daughter needs right away. This is infuriating.

I talked to Amazon (they actually have Customer Support people you can talk to without paying for support, you guys should look into that, I know it's a really cutting edge idea), and I think I figured out what happened. Probably when I first got the printer there was a free instant ink cartridge that I never used and when I was looking for a new cartridge I stumbled across it and forgot what it was. That's my best guess anyway. If anyone has any other info, please let me know but I'll consider the issue resolved.

I just checked the cartridges and the color one does say Instant Ink but I have no idea how I purchased that. I always purchase from Amazon and I've never enrolled in the program nor purchased an Instant Ink cartridge and I just looked over my past orders and none of them say Instant Ink. I'm tempted to just purchase another color cartridge but I'm afraid I may end up getting Instant Ink again. Also, how could I get an Instant Ink cartridge since I've never enrolled in the program? This is all confusing and frustrating. You make these stupid programs and they end up making simple tasks harder. Here is a photo of the cartridges.
