Cleaning printheads with cleaning solution

Has anyone tried cleaning their printheads using cleaning solution?

I have a Smart Tank 6000 that has no cyan output from the printhead.
I have seen youtube videos showing printhead cleaning by forcing solution through the printhead using a syringe.

Thus far all other attempts including: Confirming cyan tank level is sufficient-90%, printhead alignment, many printhead cleanings, like 12, restore factory defaults, all have been unsuccessful.

I tried that and possibly ruined the print head because the ink left in the cartridge was thick and I may have pushed the syringe too hard with the cleaning fluid. The video mentioned , in passing,  the possible need to warm the ink in the printhead first. Based on my experience, that is an absolute requirement to thin the ink.  Other videos show you how to do that with a warm water bath.

Even if you clean the printhead successfully and let it dry, it is then empty and that air backs up into the ink pipe.  I tried everything from trying to run the cleaning and alignment processes multiple times, to a factory reset and even trying to fill the printhead with ink manually and sucking ink into the pipe.  Nothing would clear the air from the ink pipe until I installed a new printhead.  That could be because of possible damage to the printhead however so it is a risk paying $25 for a cleaning kit and wasting a lot of time vs just paying $40 for a new printhead that works.

I believe I have solved my issue by cleaning the printhead with a cleaning solution. The solution was 80% windex & 20% alcohol. I got this solution recipe from this Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzzgvM3tH-Y

Waited 4 hours for thing to dry. Installed the printhead and it is now printing beautifully. Thanks for your assistance. Fingers crossed. I won't have problems in the near future.
