@Meli21, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding My Color Laserjet Pro MFP M177fw  prints out too dark images. how can I solve this? !

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If the printed images from your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw are too dark, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Adjust the EconoMode settings

HP does not recommend the full-time use of EconoMode. If EconoMode is used full-time, the toner supply might outlast the mechanical parts in the toner cartridge. If print quality begins to degrade and is no longer acceptable, consider replacing the toner cartridge.

Follow these steps to adjust the print quality settings:

  1. From the software program, select the Print option.
  2. Select the product, and then click the Properties or Preferences button.
  3. Click the Paper/Quality tab, and then locate the Quality Settings area.
  4. If the entire page is too dark, select the EconoMode setting.
  5. If the entire page is too light, make sure you are using the correct setting for the print job:
    • If you a printing photos, select the Photo option.
    • For all other print jobs, select the Normal option.
  6. Click the OK button to close the Document Properties dialog box. In the Print dialog box, click the OK button to print the job.

Calibrate the product to align the colors

If the printed output has colored shadows, blurry graphics, or areas that have poor color, you might need to calibrate the product to align the colors. Print the diagnostics page from the Reports menu on the control panel to check the color alignment. If the blocks of color on that page are not aligned with each other, you need to calibrate the product.

Calibrate the product to align the colors - Touchscreen control panel

  1. From the Home screen on the product control panel, touch the Setup button.
  2. Open the following menus:
    • System Setup
    • Print Quality
    • Color Calibration
    • Select the Calibrate Now option, and then press the OK button.
  3. Touch the Report button to print the supplies status page.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
